Your Business Card Sucks…

Following yesterday’s post about THE MOST INTERESTING MAN IN THE WORLD, here’s a visit to the other end of the spectrum. I don’t know. This just makes me laugh. If you haven’t seen this clip, it’s classic. And a little scary. In fact, it’s like that flick “American Psycho” with that English psycho, Christian Bale. Yes, I know he’s Batman but I can still dislike him. He’s a douche.

Anyway, speaking of douches, here’s Joel Bauer…

Congratulations, dear reader. You’ve just completed “Marketing: What Not To Do – 101”. Seriously, I hope you learned something from Joel (other than that being a douche is never a good look on anyone). If you’re going to market your brand, no one cares about your logo or about your business card or about your fancy office – and they really don’t care how much you spent on all of that. All they (the consumers and customers) care about is what you can do for them – and how much it’s going to cost them. Business cards add no value. You add value. So spend more on research and development, improvement and delivery in the direction of your customers and you won’t need a business card. Your satisfied clientele will do all your marketing for you.

That’s the knockout punch. 

By the way, 25 years on business card that looks like a birthday card? Jesus wept.
