The Power of (Ro)ONE(y)…

AC Milan 2 – Manchester United 3

It’s the UEFA Champions league’s most mouthwatering draw. And it was the first time in who knows how long that Manchester United beat AC Milan on their homeground. And they did it with 2 beautiful goals from Wayne Rooney. Yes, there were other players involved – one man doesn’t make a team and all that (especially in this industry) but I’m not in the mood to explore that right now…

So shut up and sit down.

Wayne Rooney is one of the world’s most formidable football talents. He’s deadly accurate, strong on his feet, and fast enough to play running defence right to the penalty box and then run back on the counter-attack. There are few, if any, who can match this guy minute for minute on the pitch.

So it makes sense that when Powerade was looking to launch their Fifa World Cup 2010 campaign, they chose to use Rooney as the focal point.

After all, who can match Rooney except for Rooney?

Yeah. It’s not a fantastic spot, but it did give me an excuse to talk about my favourite football team. So that’s nice…

    • Yeah, but it’s understandable.

Nani is enjoying some fantastic form and is finally out of Ronaldo’s shadow. The problem is that he seems to be struggling with handling it and I think he feels he needs to score in every game, even though he’s not the principal striker. This turns him into a ball-hog and screws with the winning form of the team. I think he’ll grow out of it though.

Or he risks not achieving true greatness like Tevez or even Ronaldo (who sold his future and immortality for nothing).

Thanks for the comment and thanks for stopping by.
