Everybody wants to be part of something great. That’s the reason that compelled 1000’s of people from around the world to brave the icy cold and interminable queues to watch Barack Obama’s inauguration.
They wanted to be part of something great. And even if they weren’t directly involved in the inauguration, even if they never saw the man in person and even if they only heard his address over the Jumbotrons, they can always say they were there.
People want to be a part of something great. Something remarkable. Something they can brag about…even if it’s just for a few days. Ask Obama. He’s inviting Americans to be a part of something great…and they’re responding.
Give people something great, something worthwhile to belong to – even if only by playing the smallest of parts – and they’ll respond.
