So Microsoft has ditched Jerry Seinfeld. No surprise there. Those ads were horrible.
The replacement killer is the new “Life Without Walls” campaign featuring endorsements from Eva Longoria, Pharell Williams, Deepak Chopra and a random woman from Africa(?). It’s equally cack-handed. Why is Microsoft struggling? Because they’re working on perception marketing and driving it through 30-second (and longer) commercials. The reality is that the Microsoft experience is abysmal. The lesson? Engage your consumer. Fix their problems. Then let them tell everyone how fabulous you are. It may save you $10 million.
